Landfill or Traditional Chinese Landscapes?

Landfill-As-Art

Photographer Yao Lu has this to say: “Today, China is developing dramatically and many things are under constant construction. Many things have disappeared and continue to disappear.” Hence it’s ingenious for him to set these photos of local landfills in a manner inspired by traditional landscape paintings from the 10th century. Photographer Spotlight Dominik Smialowski

His Behance is getting alot of traction, and for good reason, in particular, this great photo shoot called A Pilot’s Melancholy. Shot in a barren Icelandic landscape, a suited pilot wanders, lost perhaps, like that seen in Planet of the Apes. Love that movie. Love Dominik’s catchy tune on his website too, check it out!
